Good People (Space Train)
Boris worked to the bone for the train and no one appreciates him.
Gabrielle picked up Boris' slack when he left, and no one thanked her.
Tracey runs the whole Space Train, and Boris and Gabrielle take her for granted.
These attitudes come to a head when Boris and Gabrielle refuse to authorize basic maintenance on the train and everything swiftly falls apart.
Unfortunately for everyone this falls on Leah's shoulders to fix and save the train.

Interlude: Parker v. Memory
We ran out of time and bachelorhood this week, so you're in for a short profile of the most obscure man to run for president: Alton Parker.
PM 70: How to Take A Note
All works benefits from revision and the creative process demands iteration. Since you are but a single person (for now, any day I'm sure I'll transcend into a gestalt entity,) how do you get thoughts that aren't natively yours? You ask for notes. (you already knew that, it's the name of the episode.)
Good notes can be hard to find: some people need coaxing to really give you what you need, and then even if they sometimes you're too defensive and you shut down the conversation just as its beginning.
As Aaron faces a looming pile of notes he shares his thoughts on how to solicit good notes, and how to prevent yourself from getting in the way.

Scout: Jay v Goldwater
This holiday we're giving thanks for disillusionment!
Ideally we'd celebrate people for updating their beliefs and opinons based on new information, but our human biases often get in the way. This goes doubly for politicians who can be seen as spurning the voters who got them into office or not being team players.
Julia Galef's book The Scout Mindset offers a compelling argument for why we'd not only be healthier, but also happier if we make truth-finding our central goal instead of view-defending. Aaron and Dennis discuss this as well go deeper (too deep) on the Scopes Monkey Trial and Presidential Musicals.

PM 69: Memorability
If we want our work to be meaningful it must first be remembered. After a bit of catch-up and new business Aaron and Steven discuss what ways a work may be made more memorable and what can be done to strengthen that part of their work.
